Rodney Thompson is the owner of Trans-Atlantic Commercial Insurance, LLC, a Virginia domiciled insurance brokerage he founded in 2011 to give businesses and individuals unbiased advice on their insurance and financial needs. The agency serves clients across Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and several other states, with a book of business built almost entirely on referrals — a testament to the trust Rodney has earned in the community.

Rodney brings more than three decades of experience in insurance, investments, and retail banking to his work. Before launching Trans-Atlantic, he spent nearly a decade as a District Sales Manager with Farmers Insurance & Financial Solutions, where he rebuilt an underperforming sales team into a district record-holder, and held leadership roles in financial services at Wachovia Bank and First Union Bank, where he was twice promoted and consistently ranked among the top investment sales performers in the region.

A Virginia State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Rodney holds professional licenses in Property & Casualty, Life, Health, Variable Annuity, and Title Insurance, and has completed coursework toward his Certified Financial Planner certification through The American College. He is known for a hands-on, mentorship-driven approach to business and for building lasting relationships with clients and partners in the legal, banking, and investment communities.
