Mark Cheeks is a distinguished retired Air Force veteran and accomplished cybersecurity executive with a remarkable career spanning over 41 years. With more than 21 years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force, Mark developed a strong foundation in leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise. His military career not only instilled a deep sense of discipline and commitment but also ignited his passion for protecting information systems and fostering security protocols.

Following his honorable service, Mark transitioned seamlessly into the corporate world, where he spent over 20 years at Lockheed Martin as a cybersecurity executive. In this role, he played a pivotal part in developing and implementing advanced security measures that safeguarded the integrity of critical information systems with global outreach and impact. His expertise and innovative approaches not only enhanced corporate security but also set industry standards for best practices in cybersecurity.

Recognizing the unique challenges that veterans face when transitioning to corporate careers, Mark founded Mark Cheeks Speaks LLC, a dedicated platform aimed at empowering military veterans as they navigate this significant life change. Through personalized career coaching, tailored training programs, and strategic networking opportunities, his organization bridges the gap between military service and civilian success. Mark's mission is to honor the commitment of veterans by unlocking their potential, fostering their leadership qualities, and championing their contributions to a thriving corporate workforce. At Mark Cheeks Speaks, veterans are equipped with the tools and confidence needed to build their next chapter with purpose and impact. In addition to his professional achievements, Mark is a member of the Board of Directors for A Few Good Mentors Inc, which provides guidance, leadership development, and positive role models that embody men of faith to youth in the Northern Virgina region.  As a professional speaker who is an alumnus of the National Speakers Academy-DC Chapter, he has provided exciting, thought provoking and impactful keynote presentations across the country in support of veteran transitions, and corporate veteran hiring and onboarding practices.  He is known for his commitment to community service, actively participating in programs that support fellow veterans and their families. His leadership and advocacy continue to inspire many as he works tirelessly to create an inclusive environment where veterans can flourish.  Mark represents a legacy of service, empowerment, and transformation for those who have served our nation.

Born in Muskegon, Michigan, Mark earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Management Information Systems and Human Services from Wayland Baptist University, and his Master of Arts degree in Computer Resources and Information Systems Management from Webster University. He is a Certified Chief Information Security Officer and Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Mark and his wife Carol reside in Haymarket, Virginia.
