DJ Shining Stars Preschool is a SWaM Certified and BBB Accredited home-based childcare program located in Chesterfield, VA. Under the leadership of Dr. DeShonda Jennings, we bring more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education, proudly serving families with children ages two to twelve in a nurturing, safe, and developmentally focused environment.

A Commitment to Learning and Growth

We are committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education through the use of a curriculum approved by the Virginia Department of Education. Our educators are passionate about what they do and receive a minimum of 32 hours of professional development annually to ensure they remain knowledgeable, skilled, and equipped to support each child’s learning journey.

Our program offers individual classrooms divided by age group, allowing us to provide age-appropriate activities, lessons, and care that align with each child’s developmental stage.

Prioritizing Health and Safety

To support the well-being of every child, we have a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) on staff who provides oversight and assistance with health-related needs. This added layer of care ensures families have peace of mind while their children are with us.

We also participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which means healthy meals are provided to all children at no additional cost.
