Description

Success plans play a critical role in mitigating risk to ensure the continued success of any organization. It requires thinking strategically about what your organization's future needs will be in light of its strategic objectives and mapping a plan for how to develop your team to reach your goals. Despite its importance, often succession planning is delayed in most organizations because leaders don't know where to begin. The Talent Development and Succession Planning Lab will help participants understand succession planning, guide you through the creation of a succession plan for a position of your choice, and show you how to replicate the process throughout all levels of your organization. This lab will also give you the tools to do the following: Gain executive support for succession planning, Identify the critical roles in your organization, Create success profiles for each critical role, Tailor your approach to talent development and learn how to fully utilize talent development tools to give high potentials the support they need to reach their full potential, Communicate your succession planning process across your organization, and Measure, monitor, and communicate success. Methodology: We couple context, capabilities, and coaching to create and develop transferable and actionable leadership competencies with the precision of management skills to create highly effective leaders. Our interactive lab will include the following: Lecture, Case Studies, Scenarios, Small-Group Breakout Sessions, and Pre- and Post-Lab Activities.
