As the Juneteenth season of recognition and recompense approaches, let’s sit with revolutionary poet, author, playwright, activist and teacher, Sonia Sanchez. She has been raising her voice since the 1960s in the name of liberation and civil rights. 

In BaddDDD Sonia Sanchez, Sanchez's life unfolds through her work accompanied by jazz performance and commentary from some of her writing contemporaries and well known hip-hop artists that recognize her work as one of the pioneers of that genre. She is self-described as "a woman with razor blades between my teeth."
