Donna Whitaker of Curvy Girls are Chic, will guide us through basic Bra Construction using components of a custom fit bra pattern. Donna will teach us how to measure our bodies, cut, sew, fit, and alter a custom underwire bra. In this class we will use The Eve Bra pattern which is a classic custom fit pattern. The pattern is designed to work with a variety of wires and has frames available for other wire shapes. The pattern is available in a wide range of band sizes from 28 to 52 and a large variety of cup sizes. The beginner class will only teach one view; the underwire regular bra. This workshop has two options – evenings class less intense and held over four evenings and or the weekend held over two and half days. The Workshop Workshop registration fee covers a basic bra materials kit, which contains enough fabric and findings to make two bras (one muslin created in the workshop, and the other you create at home.) The cost of this Workshop is $295, which includes two and a half (evening) and daytime classes (about 6 hours each, Basic Bra Making Kit included, [Pattern and wire are purchase separately] and use of Shop equipment is included) Workshop class begins at 6:00 PM on Friday until 9 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM and runs until 4:00 PM, and the last day is Sunday where we begin at 11 am until 4:00 PM you may arrive 30 minutes prior to class to set-up your machine and other materials. We will break for 1 hour for lunch (Sat and Sun), you may bring a sandwich and snacks for lunch. We have limited refrigerator space. Day One – meet and greet, size fitting, review the pattern, instructions, wire and frame fit, lay out pattern cut frame Day Two – Cut out cups, begin sewing, and fit Day Three – finish sewing and fit adjustments Workshop Location Information If you are local to the area, Sew Chic Fabrics and Crafts Studio is located 5 minute walk from the Rhode Island Avenue Bus Station. If you’re planning to drive in, there is metered on-street parking, and a parking lot located in the back on a first come first served basis.
